Dr Adam Farmer was educated at University College London, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, and Harvard Medical School in the USA.
His primary clinical interests include functional gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), abdominal pain, bloating, heartburn and reflux, diarrhoea, constipation, and digestive symptoms arising from diabetes and the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes.
Awards
Adam is considered an international expert in clinical gastroenterology, having been awarded two prestigious prizes:
- American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society Young Investigator Prize, 2010 – awarded by the American Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility
- European Gastroenterology Rising Star Award, 2018– awarded by the United European Gastroenterology
