Why We’re Collecting This Information

At The Functional Gut Clinic, we regularly host cutting-edge research projects and clinical trials to improve understanding and treatment of digestive conditions.

This short questionnaire helps us identify individuals who may be eligible to take part in upcoming studies.

By joining our Research Waitlist, you’ll be the first to know if a study becomes available that’s relevant to your symptoms or medical history.

How It Works?

1. Complete a brief symptom questionnaire
Share general information about your digestive health — it takes just a few minutes.

2. We’ll keep your data safe and confidential
Only our research team will access your responses, and we strictly follow GDPR and the Data Protection Act (2018).

3. We’ll contact you if a suitable study arises
You’ll receive full information about any relevant research project before making any decision.

4. Your participation is always voluntary
Taking part is entirely up to you, and saying no will never affect your current care.

Our Commitment to Safe, Ethical Research

All studies we support are reviewed by independent Research Ethics Committees and regulated by relevant authorities such as the MHRA.

We follow Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards to ensure your safety and rights are always protected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is IMT suitable for?

Eligibility for IMT is determined following a full clinical assessment - this may include a review of your medical history and presenting symptoms, as well as thorough diagnostic testing.

IMT is not suitable for everyone and is only offered where it is clinically appropriate, as part of a wider care plan. Outcomes may vary between individuals.

Book a call with us to determine if you are eligible for the treatment.

What is the difference between IMT and probiotics?

While probiotics typically contain a small number of bacterial strains, IMT delivers a diverse and complete microbial community, more closely resembling the complexity of a healthy human gut. This may lead to more profound and lasting changes in gut function for eligible individuals.

Is IMT safe?

IMT has been shown to be safe in carefully selected patients and when performed under strict clinical protocols. As with all medical treatments, it is not risk-free, and key safety considerations require careful management, including donor screaming, manufacturing standards and clinical oversight from suitably qualified healthcare professionals. This is why it is especially important to only seek IMT treatment from a reputable regulated clinic. At the Functional Gut Clinic, we follow strict protocols to ensure quality, safety and suitability for each patient.
