Sam is a clinical scientist in gastrointestinal physiology. After completing a BSc in Human Biology at Loughborough University, he was accepted onto the NHS’ Scientist Training Programme for the specialism of Gastrointestinal Physiology and Urodynamic Scientist.
He completed his training at the University Hospital of South Manchester whilst also completing a master’s degree at Newcastle University.
During his time at the University Hospital of South Manchester, Sam was involved in setting up and co-ordinating several research projects and clinical trials.
His research interests include irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), bloating and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. He is keen to continue researching at The Functional Gut Clinic, since our world-class physiological methodologies can help to improve our understanding of functional gastrointestinal disorders.
