Refund Policy for Postal Kits (Self Paid)

The Functional Gut Clinic’s return procedure and policy for unused Postal kits are as follows:

Refund Reimbursements

For any unused Postal Kits which have been self-paid by the patient, the following reimbursement of costs apply:

  • £165 for HMBT postal kit
    Where £250 has been paid by patient, £75 has been deducted
  • £160 for H Pylori postal kits
    Where £210 has been paid by patient, £50 has been deducted
  • £960 for Gastric Emptying postal kits
    Where £1060 has been paid by patient, £100 has been deducted

Costs Deducted

A summary of the costs deducted are as follows:

  • Consumables and manufacturing costs of the Kit
  • Administration time taken to process the referral including customer contact and sending out the kit
  • Clinical time taken to triage the referral and contact the patient (if applicable)
  • Postage costs

Refund Process

The patient will be required to contact the Functional Gut Team within 90 days of receipt of their postal test, and confirm the following details for a refund to be processed:

  • Confirmation that the kit is unused and the kit number
    If a kit has been used/started, no refund will be payable
  • The kit must be returned to us at the patient’s own expense, including proof of postage to the following address:

  • A covering letter must be enclosed detailing:
    • Confirmation that a refund is required
    • Patients ID details
    • Full name
    • Date of birth
    • Confirmation of payment method
      • If by Card, last 3 digits of card number used
      • If by BAC’s, bank details needed
        • Sort code
        • Account number
        • Account name
        • Bank name

Upon receipt of the kit, the Functional Gut Clinic Operations Manager will process the refund back to the customer’s original payment method within 48 hours of receipt.
